Huntington
The Loud
The Loud occupies the former V Club room on 6th Avenue, a 500-capacity downtown Huntington stop with an outdoor beer garden tacked on after a 2020 renovation. The V Club ran from 2006 through that closure as the Tri-State's most stubborn rock club, booking Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, Lucero, and The Avett Brothers on the way up, and the new name kept the same standing-room floor and the same crowd.
// prior contact
Mothman, Point Pleasant, 1966-67
Fifty miles up the Ohio River from this venue, beginning November 15, 1966, residents of Point Pleasant reported a winged figure roughly seven feet tall with luminous red eyes around the old TNT munitions plant. Sightings rolled out for thirteen months, more than a hundred witnesses on the record, alongside electronic anomalies and quiet visits from "men in black" interviewers no one could ever account for afterward. The pattern stopped the night the Silver Bridge collapsed on December 15, 1967, killing forty-six people, and Point Pleasant has been working that knot loose ever since.
